Zedtech's black-box exhibition stall design at WAPTAG Water Expo Gandhinagar

Water expos are lit white and blue almost without exception, which is precisely why Zedtech went the other way. The 84 sqm exhibition stall design at WAPTAG Water Expo Gandhinagar had three open sides, enough space to be seen and enough to look empty if handled badly. It needed a hall-scale gesture on the outside and a proper retail run of product inside.

Water expos are lit white and blue almost without exception, which is precisely why Zedtech went the other way. The 84 sqm exhibition stall design at WAPTAG Water Expo Gandhinagar had three open sides, enough space to be seen and enough to look empty if handled badly. It needed a hall-scale gesture on the outside and a proper retail run of product inside.

The outer wall is a single bowed plane of matte black, tall enough to crop the hall out of view, with vertical magenta light lines cut into it in loose clusters and a continuous magenta line at floor level. The brand sits on that face once, backlit and blue. Inside, the 84 sqm booth flips to white: island gondolas and plinths carrying stock, arched openings, bar stools at a low counter. Gloss black flooring doubles the light back up.

The contrast did the work. Against neighbours in white and pastel, a black wall with magenta lines registered from the far end of the aisle, and the floor-level line drew the eye along the whole frontage. Inside, the white gondolas read as a shop rather than a stand, so people walked between them instead of stopping at the edge of this exhibition stall design at WAPTAG Water Expo Gandhinagar.
